{"id":1320,"date":"2015-12-02T09:16:57","date_gmt":"2015-12-02T14:16:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medicarereport.org\/?p=1320"},"modified":"2015-12-02T09:16:57","modified_gmt":"2015-12-02T14:16:57","slug":"more-women-getting-breast-screenings-under-medicaid-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medicarereport.org\/?p=1320","title":{"rendered":"More Women Getting Breast Screenings Under Medicaid Expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(By &#8211; Lynne Shallcross, Kaiser Health News)<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re a low-income woman, you\u2019re more likely to get screened for breast cancer if you live in a state that expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act than in a state that didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>According to new research, low-income women who lived in a handful of early-adopter states that implemented Medicaid expansion by 2011 were 25 percent more likely to be screened for breast cancer in 2012 than women in non-expansion states. That\u2019s a big change from 2008, when low-income women in both sets of states had similar odds of being screened.
