{"id":13683,"date":"2019-07-29T08:46:34","date_gmt":"2019-07-29T12:46:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medicarereport.org\/?p=13683"},"modified":"2019-07-29T08:46:34","modified_gmt":"2019-07-29T12:46:34","slug":"creator-of-brain-exam-that-trump-aced-demands-new-training-for-testers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medicarereport.org\/?p=13683","title":{"rendered":"Creator Of Brain Exam That Trump Aced Demands New Training For Testers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JoNel Aleccia for Kaiser Health News)<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Dr. Ronny Jackson, then the White House physician, gave Donald Trump a standard test to detect early signs of dementia \u2014 and said the president had scored a perfect 30. \u201cThere is no indication whatsoever that he has any cognitive issues,\u201d Jackson said at the time in front of TV cameras.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s team embraced the result, with Donald Jr.\u00a0boasting on Twitter: \u201cMore #winning.\u201d The publicity sparked a wave of interest in the screening tool.\u00a0Much\u00a0was written\u00a0about what the test showed\u00a0\u2014 or didn\u2019t \u2014 about the president\u2019s mental acuity.\u00a0A media outlet\u00a0even posted its questions online, suggesting readers could measure whether they were \u201cfit to be U.S. president.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ziad Nasreddine, the creator of that test, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, went with it. Within weeks, the Lebanese-Canadian neurologist and his colleagues were working on \u201cmini-MoCA,\u201d an\u00a0online exam\u00a0for anyone to take who was worried about his own cognitive decline.
