One place they <a href=\"http:\/\/1.usa.gov\/1TLINoJ\" target=\"_blank\">cut<\/a> is hospital funding, and that\u2019s making hospital executives furious.<\/p>\n<p>The battles lines are clear. Gov. Dannel Malloy, a Democrat, says the hospitals are getting rich off taxpayers, making more money than in past years \u2014 thanks, in part, to the Affordable Care Act. So he thinks hospitals can afford to give some money back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you make almost a billion dollars a year, how bad are things?\u201d Malloy asks. \u201cIf you\u2019re having the best results in recent history in hospital performance, why do you need the citizens of Connecticut to give you an additional $500 million?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kaiser Health News\u00a0is\u00a0a nonprofit national health policy news service that is part of the nonpartisan Henry J.
