Health products powered by\u00a0artificial intelligence, or AI, are streaming into our lives, from virtual\u00a0doctor apps\u00a0to\u00a0wearable sensors\u00a0and\u00a0drugstore chatbots.<\/p>\n

IBM\u00a0boasted that its AI could\u00a0\u201coutthink cancer.\u201d\u00a0Others say computer systems that\u00a0read X-rays\u00a0will make radiologists obsolete.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s nothing that I\u2019ve seen in my 30-plus years studying medicine that could be as impactful and transformative\u201d as AI, said Dr. Eric Topol, a cardiologist and executive vice president of Scripps Research in La Jolla, Calif. AI can help doctors interpret\u00a0MRIs of the heart,\u00a0CT scans of the head\u00a0and\u00a0photographs\u00a0of the\u00a0back of the eye, and could potentially take over many mundane medical chores, freeing doctors to spend more time talking to patients, Topol said.\u00a0 Continue reading article here…<\/a><\/p>\n
