The disease is currently the most common cause of dementia in older adults.<\/p>\n<p>Brain changes associated with Alzheimer\u2019s include abnormal clumps (amyloid-\u03b2 plaques), tangled bundles of fibers (tau tangles), and the eventual death of nerve cells.
