{"id":1759,"date":"2016-01-22T10:22:29","date_gmt":"2016-01-22T15:22:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medicarereport.org\/?p=1759"},"modified":"2016-01-22T12:24:46","modified_gmt":"2016-01-22T17:24:46","slug":"states-simplify-medicaid-sign-ups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medicarereport.org\/?p=1759","title":{"rendered":"States Simplify Medicaid Sign-Ups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(By &#8211; Phil Galewitz, Kaiser Health News)<\/p>\n<p>Getting on Medicaid has never been so easy.<\/p>\n<p>In the past two years, 31 states and the District of Columbia have expanded eligibility for Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, but even more have simplified sign-ups and renewals, according to a <a href=\"http:\/\/kff.org\/medicaid\/report\/medicaid-and-chip-eligibility-enrollment-renewal-and-cost-sharing-policies-as-of-january-2016-findings-from-a-50-state-survey\" target=\"_blank\">50-state survey<\/a>\u00a0released Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>For example, 49 states this year take applications for Medicaid by telephone, up from 15 in 2013, reports the Kaiser Family Foundation. (KHN is an editorially independent program of the Foundation.) All but one state now takes online applications, up from 37 in 2013.
