Currently, there is no cure; however, in recent series of studies in animals, scientists have shown that a drug that modulates the behavior of one enzyme reduces the formation of plaques, which is a hallmark of Alzheimer\u2019s disease. If these findings can be corroborated, this could pave the way for clinical trials in humans.
