Generally, Medicare is available for people age 65 or older, younger people with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or transplant). Original Medicare has two parts, Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medicare Insurance). Then you have Medicare Advantage Plans, sometimes called \u201cPart C\u201d or \u201cMA Plans,\u201d which are another way to get your Medicare Part A and Part B coverage. There are about 3,500 Medicare Advantage plans offered nationally by private insurance companies; these plans fall under five categories from Health Maintenance Organization to Private fee-for-service providers.
