Clouse\u2019s head slammed against the passenger-side window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The traumatic brain injury he sustained in the wreck led to severe memory loss, headaches and insomnia. Clouse, who was 18 then, didn\u2019t recognize his friends and family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly after the crash, Clouse\u2019s mother and stepfather petitioned to be his legal guardians, which meant they\u2019d make all his financial and health decisions. They said the situation would be temporary. A judge in Indiana made it official.
