{"id":2090,"date":"2016-02-26T11:02:26","date_gmt":"2016-02-26T16:02:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medicarereport.org\/?p=2090"},"modified":"2016-02-26T11:03:07","modified_gmt":"2016-02-26T16:03:07","slug":"majority-of-young-men-dont-know-about-emergency-contraception-study-finds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medicarereport.org\/?p=2090","title":{"rendered":"Majority Of Young Men Don\u2019t Know About Emergency Contraception, Study Finds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(By &#8211; Michelle Andrews, Kaiser Health News)<\/p>\n<p>Less than half of young men have\u00a0heard of emergency contraception, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jahonline.org\/article\/S1054-139X(15)00406-1\/abstract\" target=\"_blank\">recent study<\/a>found, even though it\u2019s available over the counter at drug stores and is effective at preventing pregnancy after sex.<\/p>\n<p>The study, published in the March Journal of Adolescent Health, analyzed survey responses by 93\u00a0men between the ages of 13 and 24 who visited the adolescent medicine clinic at Children\u2019s Hospital Colorado in Aurora for a physical exam, illness or injury between August and October 2014. Most had been sexually active.
