The federal government has estimated that 7.5 percent of payments on traditional Medicare in 2022 were for \u201cimproper or fraudulent payments\u201d; for Medicaid, it was 15.6 percent. Merrill Matthews writes if the government cut Medicare fraud, it wouldn\u2019t have to cut Medicare.
