Medicare is the federal program that provides health coverage to over 66 million people ages 65 and older and younger people with long-term disabilities. More than half of all people with Medicare are women, including more than 31 million ages 65 and older and about 4 million under age 65 with long-term disabilities. Medicare plays a key role in supporting the health and well-being of women, covering a broad range of services essential to women\u2019s health, including preventive, reproductive, primary, and specialty care, and prescription drugs.
