{"id":25790,"date":"2026-04-02T09:09:19","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T13:09:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medicarereport.org\/?p=25790"},"modified":"2026-04-02T09:09:22","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T13:09:22","slug":"cms-requests-acos-apply-for-lead-model","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medicarereport.org\/?p=25790","title":{"rendered":"CMS requests ACOs apply for LEAD model"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>(By: Elizabeth Casolo for <em>Becker&#8217;s Hospital Review<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CMS issued a request for applications March 31 for its long-term enhanced ACO design model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The model\u2019s performance period will span one decade \u2014 the longest CMS has tested \u2014 and run from Jan. 1, 2027, until Dec. 31, 2036. Under LEAD\u2019s risk-sharing options, ACOs can keep up to 100% of savings if spending is below benchmark and be held responsible for 100% if spending exceeds the benchmark. ACOs could also choose to keep up to half the savings and be responsible for up to half the losses.
