But they do agree that drug costs are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/pharmalot\/2016\/09\/29\/americans-believe-drug-prices-unreasonable\/\" target=\"_blank\">spiraling out of control<\/a><sup class=\"footnote\">1<\/sup> at the public\u2019s expense. Both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hillaryclinton.com\/briefing\/factsheets\/2015\/09\/21\/hillary-clinton-plan-for-lowering-prescription-drug-costs\/\" target=\"_blank\">the Democratic<\/a><sup class=\"footnote\">2<\/sup> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2016\/01\/trump-backs-medicare-negotiating-drug-prices-218215\" target=\"_blank\">the Republican<\/a><sup class=\"footnote\">3<\/sup> candidates for president have said that Medicare should be able to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2016\/01\/26\/trump-medicare-drug-prices\/\" target=\"_blank\">negotiate drug prices<\/a><sup class=\"footnote\">4<\/sup>, something that currently isn\u2019t allowed by law.
