In a telephone survey conducted in 2010, one fifth of Americans over 65 reported that they had been subject to some sort of financial fraud or abuse. Recently the Federal Trade Commission warned that scammers may pose as “official”\u009d Medicare agents over the phone or at the door in an attempt to gather personal information or swindle people into purchasing “replacement cards.”\u009d The attached article lists other Medicare scams to be on the lookout for.
