He was 70 years old and gravely ill.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Originally, we were told he was intoxicated,&#8221; remembers\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/uhealthsystem.com\/doctors\/profile\/132874\">Dr. Gregory Holt<\/a>, an emergency room doctor, &#8220;but he didn&#8217;t wake up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He wasn&#8217;t breathing well. He had\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/medlineplus.gov\/copd.html\">COPD<\/a>.
