Paying entire out-of-pocket cost for generic drugs
Researchers from Avalere Heath, using current CMS prescription drug event data, found more than half of the Medicare beneficiaries who had Medicare Part D were liable for paying the entire out-of-pocket cost of their generic prescription drug. The researchers also found that 64 percent of enrollees in prescription drug plans paid their prescription drug costs in full than those with Medicare Advantage prescription drug plans.
