HSA enrollment reached 21 million in 2017 and is expected to continue to climb

According to new research from AHIP (America’s Health Insurance Plans), high-deductible health plan (HDHP) and health savings account (HAS) enrollment reached 21 million members in 2017. The study found 82 percent of enrollment occurred in large employer settings, followed by 11 percent enrollment in small-employer market and the individual market at seven percent.
