Misconceptions about switching Medicare Advantage plans

Medicare beneficiaries can change their Medicare Advantage or Medicare Prescription drug (Part D) coverage during the Medicare Annual Election Period (AEP) which takes place from October 15 until December 7 every year. However, 78 percent of Medicare Advantage beneficiaries don’t take advantage of the Medicare AEP because they have misconceptions about what switching plans entails.
