Signing up late for Part B could cost you, but in some cases you can sign up later than 65

If you don’t sign up for Medicare Part B during your seven-month initial enrollment period, you can sign up during the general enrollment period of January 1 through March 31 of each year. However, if you sign up late for Part B, you’ll face a life-long penalty that adds 10 percent to your monthly premiums for it for life.  But what if you are still working during that time and have creditable health insurance through your employer or you’re married to someone with a health plan; what do you do?  The attached article advises of a solution; it’s called a special enrollment period and how you can sign up for Part B at a later time without risking a penalty in the process.
