The out-of-pocket financial burden for insured working Americans is substantial and growing
A new study by the researchers at Ohio State University analyzed more than 22 million enrollees in private insurance plans and found the out-of-pocket financial burden for working Americans is substantial and growing. The study noted the fastest cost-sharing increases for enrollees came from non-emergency hospital care. Although the use of out-of-network care dropped during the study period from 2012 to 2016, cost sharing for that care rose rapidly before slowing down in 2017. Read article here…
