Majority of Americans have no knowledge what a Health Savings Account is

The majority of health plan sponsors say education about health savings accounts (HSAs) is a pressing need.  Only 50 percent of Americans have any knowledge about HSAs and 40 percent believe HSA funds are lost if not spent by the end of the year.  The important distinction between Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) is the employee is in possession of their money,  can watch their balances build over time and HSA stays with them for life, whereas FSA is a notional account.  Read article here…
