Over 70 percent of seniors will need long-term care
Many seniors and non-seniors assume that Medicare covers long-term care, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes, Medicare will pay for certain types of rehabilitative care, but care that’s custodial in nature won’t be eligible for coverage which means you will need to pay for it on your own. If you assume you won’t need to worry about long-term care, you’re wrong, 70 percent of seniors 65 and over will need some care of this nature but only 31 percent of Americans have a plan in place for how to pay for long-term care.
