MIPS vs. APM–Pros, Cons, and Issues

Physicians are facing a decision they will need to make in the relatively near future…choosing either the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) or the Alternative Payment Model (APM). The latter option, of course, figures in to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ goals of shifting payment streams by 80% to alternative models by 2020.
