Retirees got a reprieve on their Medicare Part B premiums
The average 65-year-old couple retiring in 2020 can expect to spend $295,000 on medical expenses throughout retirement even when they’re covered by Medicare according to Fidelity’s annual Retiree Health Care Cost Estimate. Medicare Premiums tend to go up from one year to the next and this year is no different; however, lawmakers capped the Medicare premium increase for 2021 to 25% of the increase that normally would’ve occurred.
