The Medicare Trust Fund will be exhausted by 2024 according to the Congressional Budget Office

Medicare was established in 1965 to ensure that seniors would have access to health care in the later years of their lives. Medicare is funded by Hospital Insurance Trust Fund which have over time have come within a few years of being exhausted but in the 55 years of its existence it has never been this close as it is today.  As a result, this year will be a crucial year for the future of Medicare.
