The Medicare Hospital Insurance (HI) Trust Fund also known as Medicare Part A, which is mainly funded through payroll taxes and taxation of Social Security benefits, will become insolvent in 2024 and only have sufficient money to be able to pay 83 cents for each dollar billed.
