Scientists have identified a new drug that is effective at inhibiting the development of plaques
Alzheimer’s is a developmental neurodegenerative disease affecting 6 million Americans with a projected increase to 13 million by 2050. Currently, there is no cure; however, in recent series of studies in animals, scientists have shown that a drug that modulates the behavior of one enzyme reduces the formation of plaques, which is a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease.
