A knowledge gap among Medicare beneficiaries
A knowledge gap exists among Medicare beneficiaries on what the differences are in plan coverage of Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage according to the new study by GoHealth. The study found that nearly 80 percent of the participants said they enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan for its cost savings and additional benefits. The study also revealed surprising and worrisome misperceptions held by those individuals who have Original Medicare; “if 86 percent of folks on Original Medicare think that they’re covered for a maximum that they might have to pay each year in terms of coinsurance and deductible, and they’re not, that can be a catastrophic misperception.” Read the article here…
