Clearing Up Billing Issues With Medicare Can Be Frustrating

Question: I recently got a letter from a provider that said Medicare will not pay the bill for my test. When I contacted them to ask questions they said, “Medicare thinks you have other insurance.” What do I do? Do I have to pay this bill?

Answer: This is a frustrating situation. You show your insurance cards, and you know that this procedure is covered and then you find out it isn’t covered. But I will say wait, it probably is covered, it just is a matter of clearing up some problem with the billing. Read more…
