New Resources on Global Health Funding in the President’s Budget Request

We’ve recently released a new Kaiser Family Foundation budget summary of the President’s FY17 budget request, which proposes $8,577 million in funding at USAID and the State Department through the Global Health Programs account, representing an increase of $73 million from final spending levels in FY16. Malaria, maternal and child health, and family planning and reproductive health funding increased in the FY17 request compared to FY16, while funding for global health security, bilateral HIV, and the U.S. contribution to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria remained flat. Funding for tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, nutrition, and vulnerable children all declined compared to FY16. Read more…
