Will a 12% Medicare increase in 2026 offset your COLA adjustment? 

The Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) will be announced on October 15th, 2025. It’s expected to be about 2.7%, higher than last year’s 2.5%. For a typical $2,000 Social Security benefit, this means an increase of around $54, before any deductions.  

However, according to Matt Frankal in The Motley Fool, Medicare Part B costs are expected to rise to $206.50 from the current $185, and may reduce your COLA increase by $21.50, making your net monthly increase around $32.50. For the full article, click here …
