$250 Million for Cancer Immunotherapy
Sean Parker, founder of Napster and founding president of Facebook is giving $250 million to six cancer centers nationwide for cancer immunotherapy research. Immunotherapy enhances the body’s own immune system to kill cancer cells; it is considered “as a treatment of last resort”.
The new Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy in San Francisco will fund high risk best ideas that may not get any funding from the government. By doing so, the institute hopes to improve the slow progress in improving cancer survival rates. Read article here….
