Can a Worm a Day Keep the Doctor Away?
In the journal Science this week, P’ng Loke and Ken Caldwell, two researchers at New York University published their findings on parasitic worms and their effects on inflammatory bowel diseases.
First the researchers feed specialized mice whose symptoms mimicked the human symptoms of Crohn’s disease with parasitic worm eggs and found the population of good bacteria, called Clostridiales, shot up while the bad bacteria, called Bacteroides, went down. Read article here……
