Medicare Extra Help is a federal program that assists people with limited income and resources in paying for Medicare Part D prescription drug costs.  Extra Help, also known as the Part D Low-Income Subsidy (LIS), helps reduce or cover out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs under Medicare Part D, including deductibles, copayments, and premiums.
