Recycling old drugs?

When we talk about recycling old drugs we are talking about finding new uses for existing medications. The famous two examples of this are sildenafil and minoxidil which both started out as medications for cardiovascular issues but are better known today as Viagra and Rogaine.

With the cost of developing new drugs ranging from $1 billion to $2 billion and it takes 10 to 12 years or more to come on the market; if they are approved; it makes more sense to look at repurposing “old” drugs. Read article here…..
