Increase in Healthcare Spending

On Tuesday, June 07, 2016, a bipartisan bill will be released giving The National Institutes of Health a funding boost of about $2 billion dollars which will bring the agency’s total budget close to $34 billion. The spending bill also includes increases for other initiatives and research efforts in precision medicine, opioid anti-abuse programs, Alzheimer’s research and combat antibiotic resistance.
