Program allows palliative care while continuing treatments

Hospice programs exist to help families when a patient with a terminal illness likely has six months or less to live. The hospice approach neither hastens nor postpones death, but delivers palliative care to manage pain and other symptoms as well as social and spiritual services to increase the quality of life for the patient and the family.
