2 San Fernando Valley men convicted in Medicare fraud scheme

A federal jury convicted three ambulance company employees, including two from the San Fernando Valley, of participating in a $2.4 million Medicare fraud scheme, authorities announced Wednesday. Their guilty verdict came after a 10-day trial in federal court in Los Angeles, according to the United States Department of Justice. Yaroslav “Steven” Proshak, 47, of Valley Village; Emilia Zverev, 58, of Van Nuys and Sharetta Michelle Wallace, 37, of Inglewood were convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud and five counts of health care fraud.
