Improving Reimbursement for Blood and Marrow Transplants

On January 1, 2017, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services enacted a significant policy change improving access to blood and marrow transplants done on an outpatient setting for Medicare patients diagnosed with life-threatening blood cancers. However, while this move is a step in the right direction, this rule does not address the vast majority of transplants (97 percent) that are performed in the inpatient setting. Read article here…
