There are more than 2.5 million Medicare beneficiaries nationally reliant on medical and assistive equipment that require electric power, the Department of Health and Human Services is making data (emPOWER) available to public health officials in Puerto Rico and Florida about those who are most likely to need life-saving assistance during power outages caused by the storm.
