Average wait time for a physician appointment is 24.1 days

The average wait time for a physician appointment in 15 large U.S. metro markets is 24.1 days according to the 2017 Merritt Hawkins survey. New data from athenahealth which shows the long wait times issue is exacerbated when the patients are considered “new” or they haven’t visited the practice in at least three years.
