Medicare begins paying for fractional flow reserve-computed tomography test

As of January 1, 2018, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services began paying for the technical component of the test called factional flow reserve-computed tomography (FFR-CT). Although some major private insurers already have begun to covering the test, others payers are expected to follow Medicare’s lead.
