Low-income Medicare patients are less likely to get their annual wellness vist

A new Health Affairs study finds Medicare’s annual wellness visits are less likely to occur at physician practices with low-income, medically complex patients. When CMS introduced the annual wellness visit in 2011, practices with high-risk populations adopted the practice at a rate of 18 percent compared with practices with low-risk patients at a rate of 23 percent.
