Medicare Advantage plans to add broad non-medical benefits
Beginning next year, Medicare Advantage (MA) plans will be permitted for the first time to broadly cover non-medical expense that can help Medicare enrollees improve their health. Examples include paying for transportation to help people get to doctors’ appointments, healthful food delivered to home-bound MA enrollees, and in-home safety measures such as bathroom grab bars.
