According to Lively’s Inc’s annual HSA Spend Report, consumers are spending HSAs on everyday doctor visits and services and giving little thought to emergencies and long-term savings. Despite that fact that retirement health care costs are expected to hit $280,000 per couple, over and above Medicare coverage, dedicating any funds to long-term savings against health care expenses in retirement is apparently beyond people.
