New tools to fight Medicare and Medicaid fraud

The federal health programs of Medicare and Medicaid are a plum target for fraudsters due in part to the large number of payments the federal government doles out. According to the Government Accountability Office, in 2017, improper Medicaid payments reached $37 billion. To prevent payments to Medicare and Medicaid fraudsters, a final rule was issued on September 5th, boosting revocation posers and extending the time before troublesome organizations can rejoin the programs.
