MA plans supplemental benefits more likely to be available in urban areas

According to the Kaiser Family Foundation’s Medicare Advantage 2020 Spotlight report it found a total of 3,148 plans will be available across the country in 2020, an increase of 414 plans than in 2019. As CMS gave Medicare Advantage plans the flexibility to offer more benefits, including nonmedical services, the study found that those additional benefits are more likely to be available in urban areas than rural areas or in areas with higher concentrations of Medicare-eligible seniors who are enrolled in MA plans.
