The high price of long-term care

Healthcare is a major expense for retirees, it’s estimated that 70 percent of seniors 65 and over will require some amount of long-term care in their lifetime.  According to Genworth, the average annual cost nationwide for assisted living facility is $48,612 a year followed by a shared nursing home room at $90,155.  If you are thinking Medicare will pay for long-term care, you are mistaken.  Medicare will only pay for medical-related services so that is why it’s crucial to come up with a plan for covering long-term-care costs ahead of your senior years.
