California will pay restraurants for providing delivered meals to seniors in need

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced a state-financed meal delivery program open to seniors who are at heightened risk for coronavirus contamination or who make less than $76,500 a year.  The governor provided only a rough outline of the program but it suggests the initiative is similar to the Chefs of American program.  Elderly residents in need would be provided every day with  breakfast, lunch and dinner delivered from local restaurants.
